The Hats Off Emergency Helmet Removal Systems are intended for use by emergency rescue personnel suitably trained in the techniques of inline upper spine and neck immobilisation.

Rescuer Instructions For Use Of The Pre Fit Helmet Kit.
1. Check helmet for structural damage indicating possible head injuries.
2. Remove casualty's glasses if worn.
3. Undo helmet chin strap.
4. Check for foreign bodies inside the helmet.
5. Identify that the helmet is fitted with a Hats Off removal system by locating the arrowed sticker (figure 5.1) on the side of the helmet chin guard.
This will enable you to locate and deploy the air supply tube (figure 5.2a).
6. Once C-Spine control has been established (figure 6.1) connect the tube on the helmet (figure 6.2) to your air supply (figure 6.3) or to your bottled CO2 supply.
Maintain continuous deployment of the inflation device, being careful to guide the chin guard past the casualty's nose, until the helmet is clear from the top of the head.
