Installation Instructions

1. Place the helmet upside down with the chin bar facing away from you.

2a. Where possible, place the airbag under the original helmet lining as shown in diagram 1a below.

2b. Where the helmet lining is permanently attached to the inner shell of the helmet, HATS OFF may be fitted over the lining and covered with a crown pad (available for purchase separately), as shown in diagram 1b above.

3. Position the airbag centrally inside the top of the helmet with the tube exiting to the right. Do not permanently attach the airbag at this stage.

4. Feed the plastic tubing behind the helmet lining and down between the cheek padding as shown in diagram 2 below.

(A small incision may be required in the lining of some helmets to feed the tube through).

NOTE. Alternative routing of the tubing may be required on some helmets, depending on the design of the helmet interior. If alternate routing is used, ensure that the blue connector at the end of the tubing is positioned in an easily accessible location.

IMPORTANT. Check the tubing is not pinched or kinked at any point along it's length.

5. Position the blue connector at the base of the helmet, using the velcro fastener to secure it in position as shown in diagram 3.

6. Once the tubing has been properly located firmly attach the airbag to the helmet interior using the double-sided tape supplied.

7. Reposition the helmet lining over the airbag if applicable, or attach crown pad using the double-sided tape supplied.

8. Apply the Hat Off sticker to the outside of the helmet in close proximity to the location of the blue connector at the end of the tubing as shown in diagram 4 below.

NOTE: Please let the track owners know your are using the Hats Off device so they can tell the EMT crews at the track.

I'd recommend purchasing the Inflation Bulb and having in your truck in case the EMT's are not yet equipped with the inflation device.

We are working with track owners to make them aware of the device and to purchase the EMT kit's.

Please feel free to email us with any questions.

Here's the Hats Off system installed in a motocross/dirt bike helmet.

Hats Off Air Bladder (filled) and Inflation Bulb - (bulb sold separately)
Bulb supplied with EMT kit.

Hats Off Air Bladder installed in helmet.
Inflation tube is fed behind helmet liner
tucked out of the way.

Bladder is held in place under liner with Velcro or 2-sided tape.We recommend using additional tape to hold the bladder in place on motocross helmets. This is my personal helmet
with the Hats Off device in place, I never even know it's there.

I did use Velcro to keep it in place. These helmets get wet and sweaty. Large Velcro peices will be included in future shipping. You just want to make sure it stays secure. Carpet tape or Velcro can also be used.

Hats Off Air Bladder Sticker. Let's people know you have the device installed.
