The American Motorcyclist Association AMA Makes Hats Off Mandatory for the 2007 Supercross and Motocross Series

The American Motorcyclist Association has made the Hats Off Device mandatory for all racers participating in the AMA 2007 Supercross Series and the AMA 2007 Outdoor National Motocross Series.

POLICE TAKE HATS OFF TO HATS OFF

A REVOLUTIONARY device which could save the lives of motorcyclists involved in road accidents has been hailed by Scotland’s most northerly Police Force.

The Hats Off product was showcased at the recent Motorcycle Safety Conference organized by The Highland Council and Northern Constabulary.

It is a special pump, which fits into a valve within the helmet and allows emergency services crews to remove the headgear more easily following an accident. Each helmet, which is fitted with the valve, will also have a Hats Off sticker on it so that paramedics know they can use the pump to remove it.

Hats Off representatives Kevin Fitzpatrick attended the Motorcycle Safety Conference in Inverness to meet with those emergency services who will put the device into practice.

The conference was designed to bring together motorcyclists, clubs, retailers and emergency services. All delegates were then invited to share experiences and listen to a number of high profile speakers on the subject of motorcycle safety.

Inspector John Smith said: “The Hats Off device is an inexpensive and worthwhile safety device which we would encourage motorcyclist to fit. Hats Off will be used by all Northern Constabulary police motorcyclists.
“Anything which could potentially save a life has to worthwhile and should be welcomed.”
